Wines and Beers of the American Revolution at Pinot Boutique
Mix a history lesson with a drinking lesson this weekend! Plan to meet up with the Founding Fathers at Pinot Boutique on Friday, May 25, at 6 p.m. and drink like they once did. Which Founding Father is considered the “Father of American Wine” and why? How cool was Philly during its heyday as the largest metropolis in North America and the capital city of the United States? Learn all this and more as you sample wines, ciders and beers like those enjoyed by Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Franklin as they were founding a new nation right here in the City of Brotherly Love. Tickets are $29 and can be purchased online. If only U.S. History class could have been this much fun! 227 Market St.; (215) 627-9463
The ‘Other’ Tuscany at Jet Wine Bar
Gather your friends at Jet Wine Bar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, and travel from San Gimignano to Grosetto and the Maremma. This tasting will be led by Jill Weber, Jet’s owner, who will guide you through five wines and their unique histories. This tasting will transport you to the past, as Jet digs deep into the history of the wine, the region and the people who make it.
Your $35 ticket entitles you to the 5-wine tasting plus light snacks, as well as 15% off your evening’s bar tab and special pricing on bottles of the evening’s wines. Seating is limited. 1525 South St.; (215) 735-1116
