Zero Proof Bars & Bottle Shops in PA

As the sober curious movement grows, so does the demand for tasty and elevated non-alcoholic drink options. Zero proof is big business, with the global market climbing through the billions and celebrities launching NA product lines left and right. Gone are the days of sipping a seltzer in the corner when you choose to take a night off from booze. As these zero proof bars and bottle shops prove, it’s a new world for teetotalers, and going dry is anything but square.

Taking a break from alcohol provides a host of benefits, from improved physical health and better sleep to mental clarity and reduced anxiety. Whether you opt for a temporary pause or a zero proof lifestyle, you don’t have to go without the spectrum of sweet, dry, spicy, smoky and tangy flavors of traditional tipples. The alternatives are often indistinguishable, if not better, with lots of room for mixological magic.

Check out these Pennsylvania bars and bottle shops specializing in non-alcoholic beers, wines, spirits and cocktails, starting with a map of their locations, for all your booze-free beverage needs:

Herman’s Coffee (Philadelphia)

NA goods at Herman's Coffee.

Come for the coffee, stay for the market. The beloved south Philly roastery and cafe, Herman’s Coffee Shop, goes way beyond joe with its huge selection of NA bottles and cans available for purchase in the bodega attached to the auto-body-shop-turned-cafe and pop up space. You’ll find non-alcoholic wines, spirts, aperitivos, craft cocktails and beer galore alongside artisanal food products and goods. A visit to Herman’s really calls for a drink while you’re there, like one of its inspired (and caffeinated) mocktails, including the Pennsport Mule with espresso, honey and ginger beer.  There are plenty of tea, caffeine free, and classic beverages too, like a matcha latte and an egg cream. Keep your eyes on Herman’s ongoing pop-up series that bring guest chefs, food trucks and vendors together for specialty brunches, lunches, bake sales and more. It’s open weekdays, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. 1313 S. 3rd St., Philadelphia; no phone.
