Beat the Heat With a Visit to Brandywine River Museum

 

Visitors can escape the heat this summer at the Brandywine River Museum, and enjoy Farm Work by Jamie Wyeth, an exhibition that surveys five decades of the artist’s depiction of farm animals, equipment and the surrounding landscape. 

 

The Museum offers free admission on Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon. In addition to the Jamie Wyeth exhibition, visitors can tour six galleries and see the unparalleled collection of works by N.C. Wyeth and Andrew Wyeth, and fine collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting.

 

Visitors can enjoy breakfast with a view in the Museum’s cafeteria-style restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling windows and breathtaking views of the Brandywine River.  The cost of $5 per person includes juice and coffee, tea or milk.  A child’s breakfast is also available for $3.50.

 

The museum is participating in the Blue Star Museums program, which provides free admission to active military personnel and their families through Labor Day, September 5.  In addition,visitors may purchase a Brandywine Treasure Trails Passport.  Through this special pass, visitors pay one fee ($35 per person, $75 per family) to visit nine additional attractions, including Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. This offer is also valid through September 5.   The Brandywine River Museum is located on U.S. Route 1 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
