Casino Night

Test your luck at West Chester Parks & Recreation’s Casino Night tonight from 7 to 11 pm at Milestone Events of 600 E. Market St. in West Chester.  The evening includes hors d’oeuvres, drinks and door prizes–with all proceeds to benefit their “Send a Kid to Camp Fund.” You must be 21 years or older to attend, with reservations necessary by Tuesday, March 22. March Madness at Winner’s Circle

March Madness is in full swing at Winner’s Circle Sports Grille of Exton. Watch every game live at this bar/restaurant, while testing your luck with their constant giveaways and prizes. Drink specials of $2 Miller Lite pints and bottles and $3 Miller Lite Monster Mugs are available.

Shave Off for Shine

If you have been to  Side Bar & Restaurant lately, you may have noticed that many of the staff members are sporting proudly unshaven, burly beards. 7 staff members of Side Bar are participating in the Shave Off for Charity for Shine! SHINE is a volunteer group devoted to cancer patients in Chester County by assisting them with prescriptions, transportation, their utility bills, and various therapies. All extremely-hairy participants of fundraiser will flaunt their fuzz until tomorrow, Saturday, March 26th. On this afternoon, the Shave Off for Charity will take place from 2 to 5 pm, with all the bearded comrades banded together to receive their new clean-shaven trim directly in front of Side Bar. Barrels on the Brandywine

Barrels on the Brandywine continues through this weekend with the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail. Whether you are a first time trailblazer or a vino veteran, the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail is a collection of seven award-winning wineries and is worth every sip. Barrels on the Brandywine is a chance to sample winery’s favorites and get a taste of the 2011 harvest. For $30 (a one time tasting is typically around $8), wine lovers get a passport that is good for one tasting at all the BV Wineries every weekend in March and through April. Also, be sure to spot Bridge Street’s Chocolates along the wine trail this Saturday, March 26 at Black Walnut Winery’s headquarters of Sadsburyville. The local and top-notch chocolatier as will offer and sell samples of their Acticoa Pearls, Mimosa, Caramel and Raspberry Truffles!

Tired Hands Beer Dinner

This Sunday, March 27, Station Taproom of Downingtown will host a stunning evening of beer and food based around the collaborative black rye Saison (known as Trois Enfants) concocted by Jean Brolliet of Tired Hands, Ryan Michaels of McKenzie’s and John Defibaugh of Earth Bread + Beer. The evening will begin with a reception of the Trois Enfants brew followed by four courses concocted by Station Taproom’s executive chef Tim Smith and paired with selected beers from the attending brewers. Tired Hands will be pouring two very special beers throughout the dinner. The meal will consist with 4 courses, 5 beers for a cost of $55.

Sweet Charity

16 Chester County pastry chefs are putting the finishing touches on their delicious desserts for Sweet Charity.  Over 500 guests are expected to attend this highly competitive dessert contest on Tuesday, March 29 from 6-8:30 p.m at Waterloo Gardens, 200 North Whitford Road of Exton.  Hosted by Linda LeBoutillier, Sweet Charity benefits the Chester County Community Foundation and grows legacy philanthropy throughout the region. Brandywine Loca’licious

Join Victory Brewing Company for their upcoming tasting session on Tuesday, April 5 featuring local cheesemakers, wineries and of course, breweries. This Brandywine Loca’licious event is held 6 to 8 p.m., and will pair artisan cheese crafters like Birchrun Hills Farm, Conebella Farm, Yellow Springs Farm, Shellbark Hollow Farm and September Farm aside local-and-notable winemakers Black Walnut Winery, Paradocx Winery and Chaddsford Winery. Of course, a sampling event at Victory would not be complete without a lineup of their own locally-concocted beers and better yet, there will also be complimentary samples of Iron Hill beer on hand, as well.
