Meet the Father & Son Behind the Market at Liberty Place

Did you know that The Market at Liberty Place was named after the WWII cargo ship Liberty? The building was originally pieced together with repurposed steel beams from the Baltimore-based ship. It’s the little details like naming the market that didn’t slip by the father-son duo, Larry and Geoff Bosley, who got this place up and running after a long stretch of vacancy.

The Bosley men purchased the space in 2010 and went on a serious quest for inspiration. With 10,000 feet to work with, the options were endless, but the location would prove challenging. The pair knew there would be some friendly competition with the quaint shops in downtown Kennett Square. Then, a lightbulb turned on. They’d found the inspiration they’d been seeking at the Ardmore Farmer’s Market. It was full steam ahead once the game plan had been ironed out.

It’s safe to say the rest is history. As you now know, the market hosts a bevy of independent merchants offering a wide variety of local products. Stop in for a healthy breakfast smoothie from Nourish Juice Bar, or bring the whole family in for some sweet (or savory) crepes at Yo’r So Sweet.
