Last August, we shared the news that Michael Falcone of the HEART Food Truck would be opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant called Morrell Park in Phoenixville. Even though details on the launch were vauge, Falcone was able to share the future address (420 Schuylkill Road), as well as a few things from the seasonal, locally sourced menu, like a pork roll, egg and smoked cheddar sandwich. According to social media, it seemed like things were moving along: address info, a cute logo and even some tasty-looking food photos were shared. Heck, the restaurant even has a website!
Sadly, it seems now that the plans for Morrell Park have been halted. A few hours ago, this message was published on Morrell Park’s Facebook page:
We know a lot of you have been waiting for news on our opening and it’s with heavy heart we have to announce that Morrell Park will not be opening at our previously announced location at this time.
We want to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm for Morrell Park and we will keep everyone updated as things progress in the future.In the meantime please visit HEART Food Truck as we gear up for the 2018 Food Truck season and another year at the Phoenixville Farmers Market.
We’re still waiting on more info about this unfortunate development. But, for now, wanted to share this update with any Phoenixville folks who’ve also been following along and looking forward to the opening of Morrell Park. Best of luck to Falcone during food truck season, and we hope to see the next phase of this project emerge from this talented crew in the near future!
