This warm weather has us feeling some sort of way and, today, we have another reason to celebrate: A brand new slice shop, aptly named Pizza, has opened its doors in Pizzeria Beddia’s old space on Girard Ave., and it’s ready to sling to the masses its original, Philadelphia-style ‘za.
Pizza opened its doors today, May 2, at noon, serving slices only of cheese pie, vegan tomato pie and what will be an ever-changing specialty pie-of-the-day. Prices range from $3–$6 per slice and whole pies are available for reservation via Pizza’s website. And, other than pizza, there are a few sodas to choose from at Pizza. That’s it! It’s a super-simple, super-clean setup.

The people behind Pizza are thrilled to be a part of the neighborhood. These folks include Cary Borish and Michael Parsell of A-Frame Constructs, a North Philly-based design/build firm. You might recognize their names as they’re also part owners of Good Spoon and Martha. And Pizza’s chef is Kevin Schofield, formerly of Clarkville in West Philly.
If you can’t make it to Pizza’s grand opening today, no worries! Check out its hours before you stop in:
- Sunday: Noon–8 p.m.
- Wednesday through Saturday: Noon–10 p.m.
You can find Pizza at 115 E. Girard Ave. in Philadelphia.
