Open in Philadelphia: Love City Brewing Company

Philadelphia brew-lovers, get ready — a new brewery is opening today in the city! Love City Brewing Company will open its doors at 1023 Hamilton Street in Philadelphia on Thursday, April 19, at 4 p.m.

Visitors will be officially welcomed in to tour the space today and they can enjoy pours of the seven featured beers, including the signature Love City Lager. Love City Lager is made with all-American ingredients and features a light malty body and a clean, crisp finish. To accompany the refreshing brews, food will be available from Baby Blues BBQ food truck, and Love City Brewing will also offer house-made snacks.

Love City Brewing Company is owned and operated by Kevin and Melissa Walter, who broke ground in the Spring Arts neighborhood in Callowhill in 2017. The 9,000-square foot space is located in a building which was formerly used to manufacture tools and parts for the Reading Railroad.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming our neighbors in Spring Arts and across Philadelphia to join us at Love City starting Thursday, April 19,” said Melissa Walter, Love City Brewing founder. “We love this city and are proud to have created an inviting space where people can enjoy high-quality beer. Love City believes that beer should be approachable for everyone, and this was the central tenant throughout the entire process in bringing Love City to life.”

Love City Brewing Co. is one of a collection of curated independent food and beverage establishments recruited by Arts + Crafts Holdings to open in its portfolio of renovated buildings.

“It was ‘LOVE’ at first sight,” said Craig Grossman, partner in Arts + Crafts Holdings, the landlord shaping the Spring Arts neighborhood. “We knew after meeting Kevin and Melissa that we wanted to collaborate with them. We instinctively felt that their passion for the craft of brewing, their level of taste, their commitment to realizing a dream, and their experience in the industry were ingredients necessary to deliver the ultimate product. We look forward to their contribution to our community.”

Love City Brewing Company seeks to bring together all members of the community to enjoy a good beer in a welcoming and inclusive environment. As a part of its initiative to be a good neighbor and member of the community, Love City Brewing will offer Pathways Pilsner, a beer brewed with members of Pathways to Housing Pa. A portion of the proceeds from this beer will be donated to Pathways to Housing to support their work to eliminate homelessness.

Pop into Love City Brewing Company today, starting at 4 p.m., to explore the new brewery and indulge in eclectic beer offerings. Welcome to Philly, Love City Brewing Company!
