Prince Street Park Gets a Boozy Facelift

Your go-to outdoor food stop in downtown Lancaster is getting quite the face lift for the summer. Prince Street Park will open this Friday, May 4, at 5 p.m. with a new friend in tow: a brewery!

Voodoo Brewery, of Meadville in northwestern Pa., will be joining the TACOS Airstream in the pop-up park, located at 118 N. Prince St., for a summerlong beer garden.

Voodoo’s team originally reached out to the Lancaster City Alliance with the intention of introducing its beer to the Lancaster community. LCA passed the news along to Kyle Sollenberger and Crystal Weaver of Commons Company, the folks behind The Prince Street Park, who extended an invitation to Voodoo to join the pop-up party.

Jake Voelker, Voodoo’s general manager, says Lancaster was an easy choice for expanding east in Pennsylvania. “Lancaster immediately impressed us, and LCA was a huge part of our decision. They deserve the biggest kudos. Lancaster is super vibrant. I knew I wanted Voodoo to be a part of the city’s growth.”

And while Penny’s ice cream truck will no longer be a park staple (as its shop is now open on the same block), you’ll still be able to enjoy the amazing tacos from the Airstream, with additional sides to be announced soon. And, of course, it will also still be serving bottles of cold brew from Passenger Coffee.

When asked to describe the Park, Crystal Weaver says, “It’s tacos. It’s beer. It’s dogs. It’s family friendly. It’s seven days of the week. It’s consistent. There aren’t enough outdoor dining options like this, and we’re excited to provide this to Lancaster City.”

And, after Friday, you can stop into the beer garden every day, all summer long, from noon–8 p.m. Yes, it’s open every day! Where else can you grab a beer and tacos and sit outside with your dogs on a Monday night in downtown Lancaster?

Remember to bring your I.D., and don’t even think about leaving the park with your beer. The “park rangers” will get you!

Voodoo Brewery currently has a small footprint in eastern Pa. and is distributed by 31st and Wharton in Philadelphia.
